Australian Border Force (ABF) Cobham Aviation-operated Dash-8-200s VH-ZZC & VH-ZZJ Spotted at Rockhampton Airport

Over the last couple of weeks, Surveillance Australia / Australian Border Force (ABF) Cobham Aviation-operated Dash-8-200 aircraft continue to operate in parts of Central Queensland and on Wednesday 10 February, local plane spotter 'IAD' captured VH-ZZJ parked on the Northern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.


It had earlier arrived from a sortie using the new radio callsign of "Borderforce 88".

Meanwhile, back on Friday 29 January, 'IAD' captured fellow ABF Dash-8-200 VH-ZZC has it was on short finals to Runway 33 at Rocky as "Borderforce 33".



The Australian Border Force (ABF) is the Australian Government agency that is tasked with border protection and national security duties. It was established on in July 2015 after the merger of the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (of which VH-ZZC, VH-ZZJ and the other Cobham Aviation operated Dash-8s and other aircraft and helicopters operated on behalf of) and some parts of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).
