After what seemed to be a quiet week, on Friday 16 June, the skies above Rockhampton came alive (a little!) with a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) transport aircraft completing airwork, as well as briefly touching down at Rockhampton Airport.
In this post, local plane spotter 'IAD' was at the right place at the right time (just!) to capture some great photos as RAAF Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-003 completed a low overshoot of Runway 15 at Rockhampton Airport.
A39-003 was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Dragon 25" and looked to fly from and return to RAAF Base Amberley.
Sincere thanks to 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
