VH-ZPK was operating the morning VOZ1707 service from Brisbane.
Again, both Jamie and Tash captured some fantastic photos of VH-ZPK from all angles at Gladstone Airport. VH-ZPK eventually departed back to Brisbane as VOZ1710.
But that wasn't the end for the jet action at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 4 June with fellow Virgin Australia E-190 VH-ZPI touching down about midday at VOZ1709 again from Brisbane.
Later, VH-ZPI departed back to Brisbane as VOZ1712.
The pair of Virgin jets contributed to a total of 8 jet movements into Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 4 June, which included no less than 6 QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 jets - including VH-NXN and VH-NXO which were captured by Tash arriving into Gladstone as QJE1702 and QJE1704 respectively.
Other commercial activity on Tuesday 4 June included the usual Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR services between Brisbane and Gladstone with both Tash and Jamie catching ATR 72-600 VH-FVQ shortly after arriving as VOZ1711 from different parts of the Airport!
Also spotted at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 4 June was Cessna 172 VH-LOR – which wears 'Air Queensland' titles – which was captured as it departed South to Redcliffe – having travelled North to Mackay the previous day.
Locally-based Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-DEP which is operated by Air Charter CQ was photographed by Tash as it prepared for departure to Emerald.
Finally, the familiar sight of Cessna 414A VH-JYY was seen at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday with the aircraft captured again by Tash departing for the Sunshine Coast.
Great coverage of a great day at Gladstone Airport! It was only a couple of years ago that turbo-prop aircraft rules the skies over the port city - how times have changed to have 8 jets pop in over the course of one day!
Thanks to Jamie C and Tash C for sending through their fantastic photos!
