Mackay Helicopters - A Member of the Aviator Group - At Mackay Airport

Mackay Helicopters - and sister company Gladstone Helicopters - are members of the Aviator Group which is one of the largest and more experienced providers of general helicopter services in Australia.  Aviator Group operations include Search and Rescue (SAR), Marine Pilot Transfer, Tourism, Executive Charter, Utility, Contract Services, Electronic News Gathering as well as Film and Photographic work.

The Mackay Helicopters operation at Mackay Airport has been providing high quality, 24 hours a day / 7 days per week service to the region since 1984 and operates from a hangar on Casey Avenue,  on the General Aviation (GA) side of Mackay Airport.

Mackay Helicopters presently operates a fleet of predominantly Bell helicopters - Bell 206, Bell 222 and Bell 430 helicopters - along with a pair of Eurocopter EC135 helicopters.  Some of these choppers are occasionally shared or swapped between Mackay Helicopters and Gladstone Helicopters depending on operational and maintenance requirements

From their Mackay Airport base, Mackay Helicopters' fleet are utilised on general charter work and occasional scenic flights around (but not necessarily limited to) the Mackay region and the Whitsundays.  However, their choppers are predominately used for Marine Pilot Transfers to off-shore ships bound for Mackay Harbour / Hay Point, along with the Blossom Banks boarding ground, as part of a Maritime Safety Queensland contract on behalf of the Queensland Government.
