Surveillance Australia / Australian Border Force Dash-8-200 VH-ZZP Spotted at Bundaberg Airport with New Titles

Some interesting photos have been sent our way by local plane spotter Tom H showing Surveillance Australia Dash-8-202 VH-ZZP now wearing new 'Australian Border Force' titles and badges at Bundaberg Airport early on Saturday 17 October.

The Australian Border Force (ABF) is the Australian Government agency that is tasked with border protection and national security duties. It was established on in July 2015 after the merger of the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (of which VH-ZZP and other Cobham Aviation operated Dash-8s and other aircraft and helicopters operated on behalf of) and some parts of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).

The exact movements of VH-ZZP are unknown however Tom reports that it arrived into Bundy late on Friday 16 October.

He also reports that several other ABF Dash-8s have been seen and heard flying in and out of Bundaberg in recent weeks operating surveillance sorties up and down the Queensland coast.

Thanks mate!
