Victorious North Queensland Cowboys Rugby League Champions Call into Mackay Airport Sunday in Alliance F-100 VH-FKJ

Some special visitors with some precious cargo touched down at Mackay Airport on Sunday 18 October with North Queensland Cowboys National Rugby League (NRL) Premiers brining the premiership trophy to the sugar city as a part of tour of North Queensland cities on board Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-FKJ.

VH-FKJ touched down at Mackay Airport from Townsville as UTY551.

After a ticker-tape parade and public reception in the centre of Mackay, the Cowboys players then flew out to Mount Isa with VH-FKJ flying out as UTY552.  The Cowboys then flew to Cairns before returning to Townsville after nightfall.

Eagle-eyed readers will note that the Cowboys are posing in front of fellow Fokker F-100 VH-XWS which was (I believe to be) one of three F-100s that were adorned in "Grand Final Express" titles and was used to ferry players, family, officials and fans from North Queensland to Sydney for the NRL Grand Final in early October.
