A Lovely Day for Plane Spotting and Some Lovely Aircraft at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday

The sun was back out and so were some lovely aircraft that local spotter Jamie C managed to photograph at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 7 May.

By far the star visitor for the day however, was Marcplan Charter Embraer EMB-135BJ Legacy bizjet VH-VLT which arrived from the South during the morning.

A little later, KJM Contractors' Raytheon B200 King Air VH-KMS arrived from Brisbane.  After spending the day on the top apron, it returned to Brisbane later in the day.

Fellow King Air - Istleote/Seair Beech B200 King Air VH-MWQ - was also spotted at Gladstone Airport departing for Toowoomba.  It had earlier arrived from the Gold Coast.

Also during the morning, this striking red Eurocopter AS355NP helicopter VH-ZXX arrived into Gladstone.  The squirrel wears titles of its operator Microflite which is based at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.

There was of course plenty of commercial traffic that Jamie noted at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 7 May, however of the more spectacular images he captured, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXR was captured twice during the day - in the morning as it was on the ground - and then again in the afternoon as it departed for Brisbane as QJE1709.

Lastly, after spending most of the day on the ground, the EMB-135BJ VH-VLT made a spectacular departure from Gladstone for parts unknown.

Sincere thanks once again to Jamie for sending through some of his magnificent photos!
