Careflight Queensland (Aeromed) LearJet 45 VH-VVI Pops into Mackay Airport Tuesday

Careflight Queensland (Aeromed) LearJet 45 VH-VVI arrived into Mackay Airport from Brisbane on Tuesday 21 May.  After around half-an-hour, VH-VVI Departed North to Cairns.

Meanwhile, on Monday 20 May, during a very brief visit to Mackay Airport, I spotted QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXN parked on the apron.

Also on the apron, was Pel-Air SAAB 340A Freighter VH-EKT which was waiting patiently for its evening departure to Rockhampton and then Brisbane.

Around the corner on the Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) apron were local Cessna 525 Citation CJ2 bizjet VH-ZGP.

Also locally-based Pilatus PC-12/45 VH-YDO.

Both aircraft seemed to be preparing for departure, however, only VH-YDO was noted departing later on one of its regular FIFO flights to Middlemount.

Incidentally, another locally-based bizjet in the form of Raytheon 390 Premier 1 N7088S was noted parked in a nearby hangar.  N7088S returned to Mackay from Townsville on Sunday 19 May.

Lastly, Agusta A109S VH-CTC, which is registered on the Gold Coast, but is at Mackay operating ship transfers to the Blossom Banks with the Whitsunday Helicopter Group, was captured as it was being refuelled in preparation for departure in the early hours of the next morning.

Really glad I drove into Mackay Airport for a quick 5-minute visit - thanks to my very patient wife!
