Exercise Wallaby 2016 - Air New Zealand B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZF Back at Rockhampton Airport - And ZK-NZJ Returns Later Too!

Just after lunchtime on Saturday 22 October, the third of four 'waves' of heavy jet passenger charter flights in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016 continued at Rockhampton Airport when Air New Zealand Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZF arrived back in the beef capital direct from Singapore's Changi Airport.

On this occasion, it positioned empty from Singapore to Rockhampton Airport as ANZ6009.

As this post is being written, ZK-NZF is due to depart back to Singapore again this time as ANZ1930.

Also currently winging its way back to Rockhampton Airport also on Saturday 22 October is fellow Air New Zealand Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZJ which will be landing around 9pm as ANZ1935.

Both Dreamliners visited Rockhampton Airport late on Friday 21 October and one of the two will return on Sunday 23 October marking the end of this third 'wave' of charter flights.  The final wave of charter flights will take place across two nights in early November.

It's also worth noting that an Antonov AN-124 is expected to make three return visits to Rockhampton Airport shortly after in early to mid November.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
