Exercise Wallaby 2016 - Republic of Singapore Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules '733' Departs Rockhampton Airport

After spending just over a month operating out of Rockhampton Airport in a support role during the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Lockheed C-130H Hercules transport aircraft '733' departed Rocky one final time at the end of its deployment. The Herc made an early departure on Monday 24 October as 'SAF9682' bound for Darwin.

During its time at Rockhampton, '733' completed as many as three sorties each day to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) carrying and inserting personnel and equipment participating in Exercise Wallaby 2016.

During its final couple of weeks at Rocky, the Herc was also noted carrying flares.

'733' was noted using the callsign "Rider" during its local flights out of and back to Rockhampton Airport.

Exercise Wallaby 2016 will conclude in the next couple of weeks - in the meantime, sorties are still being flown to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area and back to Rockhampton by the RSAF Boeing CH-47SD Chinook, Boeing AH-64D Apache and Aerospatiale / Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopters.
