Exercise Wallaby 2016 - Air New Zealand B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZJ Makes one final Visit to Rockhampton Airport

On Sunday 23 October, the final flight of the third 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charters in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016 was operated by Air New Zealand Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZJ.

It touched down direct from Singapore's Changi Airport, positioning empty as ANZ6001.

As this post is being written, ZK-NZJ has been loading with a full flight of passengers and cargo, and has departed back to Singapore as ANZ1932.

The final wave of charter flights into Rockhampton Airport in support of Exercise Wallaby 2016 will take place across two nights in early November.  Word around the Airport is that these flights will possibly be operated once again by Air New Zealand Boeing B777-200 aircraft.

It's also worth noting that an Antonov AN-124 is expected to make three return visits to Rockhampton Airport shortly after in early to mid November.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD' and Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos of today's action!
