Many Light General Aviation (GA) Aircraft Flying Around CQ Airports on Monday

Over the course of Monday 14 November, I noted several interesting light General Aviation (GA) aircraft made visits to various Central Queensland Airports.  Here is a quick rundown:

Careflight (NT) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZCY completed a practice ILS approach and overshoot at Gladstone Airport as “Careflight 21”.  It flew up from and later returned to the Sunshine Coast.  VH-ZCY is one of six that operate in the Northern Territory.  VH-ZCY is pictured below at Redcliffe Airport after receiving a re-paint at locally-based Flinders Aviation.

A pair of Basair Australia Cessna 172s – VH-IMS and VH-ZSD – were noted flying from Rockhampton Airport to Mackay and then Cairns.

Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi King Air VH-JJU popped into Mackay Airport from its Cloncurry base while Port Macquarie (New South Wales) based Partenavia P.68B VH-IXD completed another local flight out of and back to Mackay Airport before it was due to fly South to Rockhampton Airport.

At Rockhampton Airport, after arriving the previous day, on Sunday 13 November, Interair / Photomapping Services Cessna 404 Titan VH-TTZ departed Rocky to the southeast and completed an aerial sortie flying over Tannum Sands, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Maryborough before landing at Hervey Bay.  On Monday 14 November, it returned to Rockhampton Airport from Hervey Bay and completed yet another local aerial survey flight out of and back to Rocky.

Fellow Interair Piper PA-31 VH-FHJ was noted completing one final local aerial sortie before it departed Rockhampton Airport for Archerfield on Monday 14 November.

Other visitors to CQ on Monday 14 November included Austrek Aviation Cessna 310R VH-DZX which flew into Rockhampton Airprot from its Toowoomba base.  It then flew to Barcaldine before returning to Toowoomba.

And the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane and broke down. At the time of writing, it appears to be spending the night in the beef capital.

Finally, the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ was back in CQ, calling into Gladstone Airport from Brisbane.  It later departed to Chinchilla before returning to Brisbane later in the day.
