Whitsunday Tiger Moth Adventures Returns to the air as CQ Adventure Flights with Yakovlev Yak-52 Warbird VH-YAF

Over the last couple of months I've noted with great interest that a new aircraft has started operating scenic adventure joyflights over the beautiful Whitsundays.

The operators of Whitsunday Tiger Moth Adventures have purchased the former Mackay Airport-based CQ Warbird Adventure Flights, along with Yakovlev Yak-52 warbird VH-YAF.

In July, a suspected bird strike forced the popular and distinctive Whitsunday Tiger Moth Adventures 1942-built De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth VH-ARU to make an emergency landing at Funnel Bay near Airlie Beach.

Now since September, the re-branded CQ Adventure Flights has been operating the former Russian military training aircraft over Airlie Beach and Whitsundays most weekends - and sometimes during weekdays - from the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.  From all reports, this magnificent aircraft looks, and feels, like a WWII fighter, and is capable of some pretty insane aerobatics!

Prices start at $250 for a 'gentle' basic aerobatic flight.

CQ Adventure Flights operates from the main terminal of Whitsunday Airport, Shute Harbour Road,
Airlie Beach.  They can be contacted by phone on:  (07) 4946 9911, or by email at:  info@tigermothadventures.com.au
