Australian Army MRH-90 Helicopter A40-023 Passes Through Rockhampton Airport as "Warhorse 243"

On Friday 6 September, Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopter A40-023 was noted calling into to Rockhampton Airport after flying up from Oakey as "Warhorse 243".

After taking on fuel, A40-023 departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville.

Of interest, the "Warhorse" callsign is used by B Squadron of the 5th Aviation Regiment of the Australian Army based at Townsville.

This could be the first time we've seen an MRH-90 back in CQ following their recent grounding.  The Australian Defence Force's fleet of 47 MRH-90 helicopters have been grounded since mid-July after an Australian Army aircraft was forced to undertake a precautionary landing due to a tail rotor vibration.

The aircraft had been en route to Brisbane Airport on Thursday 11 July when the vibration was detected with the aircraft captain aborting the mission and returning to the Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Adelaide for a precautionary landing.
