Hevilift Australia ATR 72-500 VH-FVM Photographed Arriving into Rockhampton Airport on Charter

During the late afternoon on Sunday 15 September, Hevilift Australia (Fixed Wing Division) ATR 72-500 VH-FVM was photographed arriving into Rockhampton Airport.  It flew up direct from Brisbane as HT705.

At the time of writing, it appears that VH-FVM will be spending the night parked at Rocky with a departure planned to Horn Island early on Monday 16 September, again as HT705.

We have seen Hevilift complete similar flights between Rockhampton Airport and Horn Island (sometimes via Cairns) on previous occasions and it has been thought that these closed charter flights are transporting boarding school students between home and school in Rocky.

UPDATE!  Indeed VH-FVM flew to Horn Island from Rockhampton Airport early on Monday 16 September before it later returned direct to Brisbane but as HT706.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Scott H who was at the right place at the right time to capture these great photos!
