On Monday 5 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft A30-005 was noted completing a missed approach at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.
It appears that the Wedgetail flew up from RAAF Base Williamtown direct to Hervey Bay. After completing the airwork, the Wedgetail then returned South to Williamtown via another missed approach at Port Macquarie.
A30-005 was heard using the radio callsign of "Wedgetail 03".
