The new Virgin aircraft had operated the VOZ1661 service from Brisbane to Moranbah however due to the inclement weather affecting the northern part of Central Queensland, VH-FVY didn't land and diverted to Emerald. VH-FVY later departed back to Brisbane as VOZ1882.
Meanwhile, I also spotted Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWQ as it arrived from Brisbane operating for QantasLink as UTY2404.
Toll Freight Aviation Metro III VH-UUO was photographed on the new Western General Aviation parking area.
These photos were taken near access Gate 8 which as mentioned previously (see Blog Post HERE) is now about the best spotting location for photographing aircraft on the main runway 06/24 at Emerald.
Next to the Metro was Flight Options (Australia) (Aeromil Pacific) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra bizjet VH-SJP which arrived into Emerald on Tuesday 9 April from the Sunshine Coast.
On a busy Eastern general Aviation apron I spotted Toowoomba-based Wolff Aviation Hawker Beechcraft G58 Baron VH-WGU.
The Rockhampton Aero Club's Pilatus Britten-Norman BN-2A-8 Islander VH-SLM was also visiting Emerald for the day.
I also spotted a couple of local aircraft in the form of Advance Aviation piper PA-31-350 Navajo VH-FWJ.
Also local Cessna 172R VH-BVY.
At the Northern end of the Airport - where most ultralight operations take place - including the hangar of FlyCQ flight training - I spotted Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat 24-4621.
Also spotted was locally-based Flysynthesis Texan Tc - LSA 24-4259.
The nearby hangars contained a mix of ultralight and fixed wing aircraft as well as a couple of locally based helicopters.
