Helicopter Spotting on the Great Barrier Reef - Helireef Whitsunday Helicopter Transfers to Hamilton Island Airport

After a relaxing morning of snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef with my wife, I recently had the opportunity to capture a few lovely images of three of Helireef Whitsundays (Whitsunday Air Services) helicopters that operate joyflights around the Hardy Reef pontoon, as well as fly transfers from and to Hamilton Island Airport.

On one pontoon was a pair of Bell 206 jetranger choppers - VH-VTO (in green) and VH-VTU (in blue).

Eurocopter EC120B Colibri VH-YWY was also on a nearby pontoon.

My wife and I had earlier travelled to the Hardy Reef pontoon (shown below) with Cruise Whitsundays.  We decided to fly back to Hamilton Island Airport with Helireef Whitsundays.  We had a marvellous flight on board VH-YWY - stay tuned to the CQ Plane Spotting Blog for an upcoming Trip Report!

One final photo taken at Hamilton Island Airport showing most of the Helireef Whitsundays (Whitsunday Air Services) helicopter fleet as they wait for their next flights.  Eagled-eyed readers will note all three choppers from Hardy Reef in the foreground - VH-VTO, VH-YWY, and VH-VTU.  The line-up is completed by Robinson R-44s VH-HYN and VH-WFF.

It was a beautiful day on the Great Barrier Reef!
