Brisbane Storms Cause Flight Delays and a Diversion on Wednesday

While chatting to Jamie C who lives close to Gladstone Airport, he mentioned that late on Wednesday 17 April, a Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72 landed - and there was no one around to meet it!

Turns out this aircraft - ATR 72-600 VH-FVQ - had diverted to Gladstone while en route Moranbah to Brisbane as VOZ1668.

Severe storms in Brisbane during the evening caused several delays with numerous aircraft noted holding in the air around the Brisbane Airport.

VH-FVQ evenutally continued on its journey to Brisbane after about an hour on the ground at Gladstone.
