An interesting visitor around Mackay late on Saturday 2 May was the Cairns-based Aerorescue (AMSA - Australian Maritime Safety Authority) Dornier 328-100 VH-PPV "Rescue 441".
It initially flew South from Cairns and arrived at Mackay Airport to take on fuel. It then departed on a search and rescue flight near Mackay and eventually landed back at Mackay. It then returned to Cairns.
