Local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C were again on hand as QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-LQL departed Gladstone Airport for Brisbane early on Wednesday 13 May. The aircraft now wears a very attractive colour scheme promoting the Taronga Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo in country New South Wales.
As mentioned below, it had touched down at Gladstone Airport from Brisbane the previous evening and stayed parked for the night.
It is pictured departing to Brisbane as QLK2331. From Brisbane, VH-LQL called into Rockhampton - photos coming! - and then twice into Emerald Airport. Sadly I couldn't get down to Emerald to see it personally.
Sincere thank to Jamie and Tash who have captured some of the first photos of VH-LQL in service in Queensland! And I reckon these photos are pretty good too!
