Queensland Rugby League Game Brings Alliance Fokker 70 VH-JFB to Blackall Airport

This would certainly have been a sight!  Over the weekend, the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) brought a Round 26 of the Intrust Super Cup to Blackall as a part of the QRL's 'Country Week' initiative.  As a result, it appears that Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-JFB may have operated a pair of charter flights into the Central West in support of the game.

VH-JFB initially touched down at Blackall from Brisbane on Saturday 15 August as UTY3382.  It then appears that VH-JFB positioned to McArthur River Zinc Mine in the Northern Territory before flying to Orange in New South Wales on a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight.

VH-JFB then returned to Blackall on Sunday 16 August as UTY588 before flying back to Brisbane as UTY3383.

Blackall Airport usually sees a QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 each Monday, Wednesday and Friday on operating between Brisbane and Longreach as well as the occasional visit by a Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) King Air on med-evac duties.
