After heading North via Rockhampton Airport in mid-August, three Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk helicopters have, on Wednesday 2 September, again called into Rocky this time heading back to the South.
All three seemed to land in quick succession and local plane spotter Kayanne H made a quick trip to Rockhampton Airport early on Wednesday to capture their departures to RAAF Base Amberley.
A25-206 departed first as "Spartan 206".
It was followed by A25-110 flying as "Spartan 110".
A25-214 was last to depart as "Spartan 214".
Again, it was interesting to note they had ferry fuel tanks added.
It is possible that more Blackhawks may pass through in the coming days.
Meanwhile, much later on Wednesday 2 September, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-003 performed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport as "Dragon 14". It looked to fly up from RAAF Base Amberley and depart back there after the missed approach.
Thanks to Kayanne for capturing and sending through these awesome photos of the three Blackhawks!
