New RAAF Super King Air Turboprops A32-988 & A32-003 Both Complete Airwork & Land at CQ Airports

On Saturday 22 June, a pair of new Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Beech B350 Super King Air turboprops were noted completing airwork and landing at some Central Queensland Airports.

A32-988 was back around CQ Airports, again flying as "Torch 29" and again flying up from the Sunshine Coast.  On this occasion, it landed at Gladstone Airport for a short time before it continued North and landed at Mackay Airport.

A32-003, flying as Torch 24", also flew up from the Sunshine Coast and was noted overflying Emerald and Moranbah Airports before it completed airwork around Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport.  A32-003 also looked to land at Mackay Airport.

During the latter part of the afternoon, both A32-988 and A32-003 departed Mackay Airport and returned to the Sunshine Coast via what appeared to be airwork at Bundaberg Airport.

Both Super King Airs are flown by the RAAF's 32 Squadron based at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria.

Both A32-988 and A32-003 looked to fly up together to the Sunny Coast from there via Port Macquarie last week.  They are two of four new Super King Airs that have leased from Hawker Pacific for operations with 32 Squadron.

UPDATE!  Both A32-988 "Torch 29" and A32-003 "Torch 24" were noted returning 'home' to RAAF Base East Sale from the Sunshine Coast on Sunday 23 June.
