Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-002 "Ausy 575" Back at Rockhampton Airport

A much more successful visit on Thursday 6 June for Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-002 which again called into Rockhampton Airport as "Ausy 575".

It arrived from Townsville having being forced to 'divert' there the previous day on Wednesday 5 June after landing at Rockhampton Airport and being prevent from parking and unloading/loading due to having dangerous items on board.

On Thursday, the KC-30 parked on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport parking apron and was loaded a full load of personnel from the Philippines along with their bags and equipment. They have been in the region participating in joint military exercises that have recently been held in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).

Indeed A39-002 then departed Rockhampton Airport for the Philippines again as "Ausy 575".

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
