Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) (Cobham SAR Services Pty Ltd) Bombardier Challenger 604 Bizjet VH-XNC Spotted at Charleville Airport

Overnight and in the wee small hours of Thursday 21 October, Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) (Cobham SAR Services Pty Ltd) Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-XNC flew South from Cairns as "Rescue 440" and completed a search in the very far South-West of the State before then flying up to and landing at Charleville Airport.

After spending the day parked (presumably with technical crew 'out-of-hours') it then returned to Cairns in the early evening, again as "Rescue 440".

Possibly related to the visit of the Challenger was a visit by Hinterland Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-HLJ which visited Charleville Airport from Cairns as 'HND815'.

Meanwhile, it's worth mentioning that on Wednesday 20 October, VH-XNC "Rescue 440" flew down from Cairns to operate around the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) before then heading back North.
