A Pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules Aircraft - A97-449 & A97-448 - Spotted Completing Airwork at CQ Airports - Plus More!

On Friday 16 June, a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft were spotted and noted completing airwork at some Central Queensland Airports.

Herc A97-449, which flew North to Townsville via a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport as "Trojan 04" on Tuesday 13 June (see Blog post below) and then flew a short trip out of Townsville and back as "ASY618" before then flying down to RAAF Base Richmond again as "Trojan 04" on Wednesday 14 June, flew back up to RAAF Base Amberley from Richmond early on Friday.

It then departed Amberley and headed West to complete a missed approach at Roma Airport and then complete airwork near Emerald (around Carnarvon Gorge) before flying across to Rockhampton Airport where it was spotted completing a missed approach.

A97-449 "Trojan 04" then returned back to Amberley.

Fellow Herc A97-448 as "ASY617", which flew North to Port Moresby from Townsville on Wednesday 14 June and returned to Townsville on Thursday 15 June, flew out from Townsville to complete a missed approach at Longreach Airport and then Emerald Airport before flying across and landing at Rockhampton Airport.

A bit later, the Herc departed Rockhampton Airport and flew South to Amberley via completing airwork at missed approaches at Taroom and Chinchilla Aerodromes.

Of interest, also on Friday 16 June, a third RAAF C-130J A97-440 as "Trojan 52" also flew South out of Townsville through the region.

Finally, also on Friday 16 June, RAAF Beech 350 Super King Air A32-003 as "Tester 25" looked to complete airwork and then eventually land at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.

UPDATE!  On Sunday 18 June, A32-003 "Tester 25" departed Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport for RAAF Base Williamtown.
