It looked to fly up from RAAF Base Amberley as "Dragon 44" and parked on Taxiway Julliette for a short time to complete a crew change.
The KC-30 MRTT then departed Rockhampton Airport and returned to Amberley.
Meanwhile, also on Monday 5 June, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-207 was photographed as it climbed out after completing a missed approach at Bundaberg Airport.
It was flying as "Stallion 30" and looked to fly up from and then return to Amberley.
