Gladstone Airport Saturday - Virgin Australia E-190 VH-ZPI - HeliScope (PNG) AS.350B VH-ZGA

A couple of nice movements captured at Gladstone Airport on Saturday 12 September including a sleek Aerospatiale AS.350B VH-ZGA which is currently registered to Bankstown Helicopters but wears the titles and colours of HeliScope of Papua New Guinea (PNG).

HeliScope PNG ( http://heliscope.net/ ) is a helicopter charter company based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. They specialise in drilling support, heavy lift operations, telecommunications tower construction, seismic support services, oil and gas exploration, mining and surveying support, aeromedical search and rescue, passenger transport and VIP charter.

VH-ZGA was reportedly heading North to PNG however a recent flight record suggest that it was in Cairns on Friday 11 September.

Meanwhile, Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jet VH-ZPI was also captured at Gladstone Airport on Saturday 12 September.

VH-ZPI was operating the usual VOZ1709/1712 jet service from and back to Brisbane.

Of interest, Virgin Australia again operated E-190 jets during this past week - on Monday 7 September VH-ZPE operated the VOZ1707/1710 service from and back to Brisbane - while on Tuesday 8 September VH-ZPO operated two return services from and back to Brisbane during the day.

Finally, an interesting visitor to Gladstone Airport on Friday 11 September which was noted departing to Brisbane was Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation Metro 23 VH-VEK.

Thanks to Col for sending through these awesome photos!
