American Registered Bombardier Global 5000 Bizjet N2QE Calls into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More!

On Sunday 31 July, American registered Bombardier BD-700-1A11 Global 5000 bizjet N2QE was noted visiting Hamilton Island Airport.

It flew up from the Gold Coast and then later departed to Cairns.

While Bowenville (near Toowoomba) based Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1+ bizjet VH-JSZ visited Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield.

Meanwhile, several light General Aviation (GA) aircraft were noted visiting the region, also on Sunday 31 July.

New South Wales-based Campbell Aviation PA-28-181 Cherokees VH-XCW, VH-XHE and VH-XGN - plus another PA-28-181 Cherokee VH-NRF - flew up from Archerfield to Gladstone Airport before then flying up to Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport.  They flew up from Bankstown via Tamworth the previous day and look to possibly be completing another tour of regional and remote Queensland having just completed one the last week.

UPDATE!  Up to and including Wednesday 3 August, all four Cherokees VH-XCW, VH-XHE, VH-XGN and VH-NRF flew around various places including Hamilton Island, Emerald, Longreach, Charleville, Bourke and Dubbo before returning to their Bankstown base.

New South Wales-based Cessna 182 VH-IQV flew up from the Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton Airport.

UPDATE!  On Tuesday 9 August, VH-IQV finally departed Rockhampton Airport for Moree and Albury.

Locally-based Beech C24R Sierra VH-ZYX flew back into Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield.  As posted below, it flew down there on Friday 29 July.

Bunderra Cattle Co (Rockhampton) Piper PA-46-350P Malibu Mirage VH-KNV flew back into Rockhampton Airport from Barrow Creek.  It had flown out there from Rocky via Rolleston, Boulia and Alice Springs the previous day.

While, Beech A36 Bonanza VH-ILG flew into Emerald Airport from Cairns.

Charters Towers-based Piper PA-32R-301T VH-ASC looked to depart Emerald Airport for the North.

RDO Equipment Co. (ex Vanderfield) Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH departed Longreach Airport for Archerfield and Toowoomba.  It had arrived two days prior from those places.

Fellow RDO Equipment (ex Vanderfield) Cessna 210N VH-JSC flew from Roma Airport to Toowoomba.

ZephAir Australia - Aircraft Charters Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-AYT visited Hamilton Island Airport from its Townsville base.

Ipswich-based Airborne P/L (Palm Lake Works) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-VLQ was noted visiting Bundaberg Airport again from the Gold Coast.

And Victoria-based Flyers P/L Cirrus SR22 VH-IXB called into Biloela / Thangool Airport after flying up from Melbourne (Essendon) via Dubbo and Chinchilla Airports.

Australian Army Boeing CH-47F 'Foxtrot' Chinook Helicopter A15-301 Returned Back North via Rockhampton Airport but as "Pegasus 09"

On Sunday 31 July, Australian Army Boeing CH-47F 'Foxtrot' Chinook helicopter A15-301 was spotted as it arrived into Rockhampton Airport from the Oakey Army Aviation Centre.  It was flying as "Pegasus 09".











After taking on fuel, the Chinook departed up to Townsville.

As posted below, A15-301 passed through Rockhampton Airport last Saturday 23 July heading South to Oakey and it was spotted completing low-level operations over Brisbane City over the couple of days.

Jampair P/L (Navair Flight Operations) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300E Bizjet VH-NSQ Pops into Hamilton Island Airport - Plus More!

On Saturday 30 July, Jampair P/L (Navair Flight Operations) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300E bizjet VH-NSQ was noted visiting Hamilton Island Airport.  It arrived from Sydney before later departing back to Archerfield.

While AirMed Australia (Metro Holdings) (New South Wales) Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-SQY flew into Hamilton Island Airport from Archerfield.  It later departed to the Gold Coast.

And over on the mainland at the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour, Australia Skydive Cessna 208 Caravan VH-YMV flew down from Tully where it had been operating in recent weeks.

Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DZQ, which is also operated by Australia Skydive, flew out of the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour for Cairns.

Of interest, other Cessna 208 Caravans performing skydive operations around North Queensland include VH-DVS at Tully and VH-XLF at Innisfail.

Meanwhile, also on Saturday 30 July, Platinum Aviation (South Australia) Hawker Beechcraft B200 VH-XBZ landed at Longreach Airport from Cairns before then departing to Adelaide.  It looks to have flown up to Far North Queensland around two weeks ago.

Central Highlands Aerial Services (CHAS) Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LMZ flew from Rockhampton Airport to their Emerald Airstrip.  It looks to have flown across to Rocky two days earlier.

Seair Pacific / Istlecote Textron Aviation (Cessna) 208B Caravan VH-TQI flew into Longreach Airport from Birdsville on what appears to be another closed tourist charter flight.

UPDATE!  On Monday 1 August, VH-TQI departed Longreach Airport and flew into Lady Elliott Island and then the Gold Coast.

And UTS Geophysics / Aviation Utilities Eurocopter AS 350 B3 Squirrel helicopter VH-VOW was noted flying South from Charleville Airport after starting the day at Mount Isa.

Finally, also on Saturday 30 July, and at my local Clermont Aerodrome, Brisbane-based Hewitt Cattle Australia P/L SOCATA TBM 700 VH-PGA flew from Archerfield to Moura Aerodrome and then Clermont Aerodrome.  It then flew to a remote property before returning to Moura and Archerfield.

And 1957-built New South Wales based Cessna 180 VH-MTF departed Clermont Aerodrome for Mareeba.  It had arrived from the South the previous evening.

Also on Friday - AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang Bizjet VH-PWX Calls into Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport - Plus More!

Also on Friday 29 July, AirMed Australia Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-PWX as "AirMed 212" was noted visiting Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.  It looked to arrive from its Bankstown base via the Gold Coast and Archerfield.

VH-PWX then departed to Bankstown.

While often visiting American-registered Eclipse EA500 bizjet N257AK visited the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour from Archerfield.  We haven't seen it for a little while!

Meanwhile, also on Friday 29 July, Telford Aviation (Brisbane) Beech A36 Bonanza VH-MPT flew from Blackall Airport to Hughenden and Julia Creek before flying down to Archerfield late after dark.

ZephAir Australia - Aircraft Charters Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-AYT visited Hamilton Island Airport from its Townsville base.  It also appears to have popped into Mackay Airport on Wednesday 27 July during a busy day of flying between Townsville and the Gold Coast.

Graham Aviation's re-registered Cessna T206H Float Plane VH-FNB (ex VH-PXT) looked to arrive into Hamilton Island Airport from Cairns.

UPDATE!  On Monday 1 August, VH-FNB looked to return to Cairns from Hamo.

And Dino Air (Interair) Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-XGL continues to operate aerial survey flights out of and back to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.

Finally, it's worth noting that on a quiet Thursday 28 July, Victoria-based Cessna 182s VH-EUP, VH-NPE and VH-BXW departed the Emu Park Airstrip for Rolleston Aerodrome.  They looked to arrive into Emu Park Airstrip from Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport last weekend.

A Fantastic Friday of Plane Spotting at Rockhampton Airport!

It was a fantastic day of plane spotting at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 29 July, with many interesting aircraft and helicopters both spotted and noted coming and going.

Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-UQN visited Rockhampton Airport for the day, operating a closed charter flight in support of a local golf tournament.  It arrived from and then departed back to Brisbane as UTY6456/7.


McDermott Aviation Group / Machjet International Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-ZSY arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Bundaberg Airport.  It later departed to Lynora Downs, a large cotton and grain farm near Rolleston.  From there, it appears to have called into Archerfield before continuing to the Sunshine Coast.

VH-ZSY appears to have arrived into Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Bundaberg Airports from the Sunny Coast the previous day.

Townsville Airlines (Flightech Air Logistics) Beech B200 King Air VH-WZN looked to once complete the Queensland Police Service flights into the region, this time departing Cairns for Townsville, Mackay and then Rockhampton Airports.  It then flew down to Brisbane but later returned North to Rockhampton Airport before continuing directly to Cairns.


Slightly lighter, New South Wales-based Inverted Downunder / Matt Hall Racing Piper PA-39-160 Turbo Twin Comanche VH-HTC arrived into Rockhampton Airport from Port Macquarie and Ballina / Byron Bay Gateway Airport.  Former Rockhampton-based aviator Emma McDonald was at the controls! 



UPDATE!  On Monday 1 August and Tuesday 2 August, VH-HTC departed Rockhampton Airport for Caboolture, Ballina / Byron Bay Gateway and then back to Lake Macquarie.

And locally-based Beech C24R Sierra VH-ZYX was spotted as it departed Rockhampton Airport for Archerfield.


While some nice helicopters to be spotted visiting Rockhampton Airport included South-East Helicopters / Trecked Pty Ltd (New South Wales) Kawasaki BK117 B-2 VH-FHD which appeared to be ferrying back to Bankstown after spending the last month or so operating in Papua New Guinea (PNG).  It arrived from Cairns via Townsville and Mackay Airports before departing to Bundaberg and Caloundra Airports.




VH-FHD flew in company with fellow South-East Helicopters / Trecked Pty Ltd (New South Wales) Kawasaki BK117 B-2 VH-TKD which flew over the same route a little earlier in the day.

ACT-based Robinson R44 helicopter VH-PNY and Emerald-based Robinson R66 helicopter VH-CSG were also spotted.



But perhaps the most interesting helicopter spotted at Rockhampton Airport was recently re-registered Helicorp Leonardo S.P.A. Helicopters (Agusta) AW139 helicopter VH-XIU.  It looked to fly in from Bankstown via Armidale and Oakey and then depart to Townsville.





UPDATE!  On Saturday 30 July, VH-XIU continued from Townsville to the Australian Army's Robertson Barracks in Darwin where it appears to have since commenced operations as "Rescue 902".

Of interest, VH-XIU was originally acquired by LifeFlight but appears to ferry from their Archerfield base to Bankstown via Tamworth around a week ago.

And it's also worth mentioning that Heli-Aust Whitsundays (Gladstone Helicopters) Airbus Helicopters EC135 P3 (CPDS) VH-ZGH completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport while on a flight out of and back to its Gladstone Airport base.

Finally, Air Charter Services / Flight Options (Australia) Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300 bizjet VH-VKX was photographed visiting Rockhampton Airport from Brisbane.

Jetstar Airways Airbus A320 -200 VH-XNP (ex 9V-JSU) First Visit to CQ at Mackay Airport

Late on Thursday 28 July, Jetstar Airways Airbus A320-200 VH-XNP was noted completing its first ever visit to Central Queensland, operating into Mackay Airport from and back to Brisbane as JST888/9.

VH-XNP is one of two (more) recently delivered A320s that were previously operated by Jetstar Asia Airways (Singapore). VH-XNP was previously registered as 9V-JSU. It was delivered to Australia from Singapore to Melbourne (Tullamarine) in mid-May still as 9V-JSU. It has since been placed on the Australian Aircraft Register and finally entered service from Tullamarine with Jetstar Australia around two weeks ago.

The other recently delivered A320 has been registered as VH-XNW and is ex 9V-JSV. It was delivered to Australia via Adelaide and Melbourne (Tullamarine) as VH-XNW in mid-June and entered service from the latter a few days later.

These additional two A320s come after three former Jetstar Asia Airways A320s were delivered to Jetstar Australia at the start of the year - VH-XNI (ex 9V-JSN), VH-XNJ (ex 9V-JSP) and VH-XNN (ex 9V-JSM).

These former Jetstar Asia A320s complement the six former Jetstar Japan A320s that have also entered service here in Australia over the last year or so.

LifeFlight (Aeromed) Canadair Challenger 604 Bizjet VH-OFC "Ambulance 634" Calls into Emerald Airport

During the evening on Thursday 28 July, LifeFlight (Aeromed) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-OFC "Ambulance 634" was noted calling into Emerald Airport.  It looked to arrive from Townsville and Mount Isa.

RAAF Super King Air Turboprops A32-008 & A32-021 Back Visiting CQ Airports - Plus More!

The pair of newer Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Beech B350 Super King Air turboprops that were noted and spotted completing airwork and landing at some Central Queensland Airports earlier in the week, were back again completing more on Thursday 28 July.

A32-008 as "Hudson 06" flew down from Cairns to Longreach Airport via a missed approach at Richmond. 

While A32-021 as "Hudson 07" also flew down from Cairns to Longreach Airport but via a missed approach at Winton. 

Later, A32-021 "Hudson 07" and A32-008 but as "Hudson 05" both departed Longreach Airport for Rockhampton Airport via a missed approach each at Gayndah Airport. 

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 28 July, as predicted, RAAF Dassault Falcon 7X A56-003 "Envoy 27" departed Townsville for Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport and then Rockhampton Airport.  It then departed to the Gold Coast and Canberra via a missed approach at Tamworth.

A56-003 "Envoy 27" was spotted at Mackay Airport while flying up to Townsville from Canberra, also via Bundaberg and Cairns Airports, on Wednesday 27 July.

A Trio of Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopters Pass Through Rockhampton Airport Overnight - UPDATED!

In the wee small hours of Thursday 28 July, three Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopters were noted passing through Rockhampton Airport while on a fight from Holsworthy Barracks near Sydney up to Townsville.

Fight tracking websites suggest they to be A40-047 as "Bushman 81", A40-007 as "Bushman 82" and A40-040 as "Bushman 84".

All three flew up Holsworthy via stops at Tamworth and Oakey before landing at Rockhampton Airport. They all then departed separately for Townsville.

UPDATE!  Very late on Thursday 28 July, a fourth MRH-90 helicopter, A40-043 as "Bushman 43" also called into Rockhampton Airport from Holsworthy, Tamworth and Oakey before then also departing to Townsville.

The "Bushman" callsign suggests the MRH-90 helicopters are flown by the Australian Army's 173rd Aviation Squadron. They provide support to the Army’s Special Operations Command. The Squadron is based at Luscombe Airfield, Holsworthy Barracks, Sydney and forms part of the 6th Aviation Regiment.

UPDATE!  On Monday 1 August, all four MRH-90s looked to return South from Townsville, again via Rockhampton Airport, heading back to Holsworthy.

LifeFlight (Aeromed) Canadair Challenger 604 Bizjet VH-OFB "Ambulance 624" Pops into Rockhampton Airport

On Wednesday 27 July, LifeFlight (Aeromed) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet VH-OFB "Ambulance 624" was noted visiting Rockhampton Airport.

It looked to arrive from Brisbane and later depart back there.

Stroud Aviation and Transportation / Navair Flight Operations Cessna 510 Citation Mustang Bizjet VH-SHI Spotted at Mackay Airport - Plus More!

On Wednesday 27 July, Stroud Aviation and Transportation (Boonah) / Navair Flight Operations Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-SHI was spotted parked at Mackay Airport.  It had earlier arrived from Archerfield.


Later, VH-SHI departed Mackay Airport for Rockhampton Airport.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 28 July, VH-SHI departed Rockhampton Airport for Toowoomba and then Archerfield.

A couple of other Cessna Citation Mustang bizjets also visited the region, also on Wednesday 27 July, including AirMed Australia (Metro Holdings) (New South Wales) Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-SQY which flew into Hamilton Island Airport from the Gold Coast.  It later departed to Archerfield.

Australian Air Services Cessna 501 Citation SP bizjet VH-NOU also arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from Bankstown and Narrabri and Bankstown.

UPDATE!  On Monday 1 August, VH-NOU departed Hamo and returned to Narrabri and Bankstown.

While recently re-registered (operator) Robindale Group / Air Link Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-CMK completed a medical evacuation flight into Rockhampton Airport, arriving from and later departing back to Bankstown as "Airmed 974".

MacKellar Mining Equipment Pty Ltd (Revesco Aviation) Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-MMC was noted visiting the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site. It looked to arrive from and then later depart back to its Sunshine Coast base.

And Machjet (Machjet International) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet N685SC was noted arriving into Bundaberg Airport from its Sunshine Coast base.  It seems to be parked up for at least the night. 

Meanwhile, also on Wednesday 27 July, Brisbane-based Hewitt Cattle Australia P/L SOCATA TBM 700 VH-PGA flew out of  Archerfield for Moura Airport before then flying up to my local Clermont Aerodrome.  VH-PGA then returned to Archerfield.

Pilatus PC-12/45 VH-PID of Kibble (Aeronautics and Technology Holdings) looked to arrive into Rockhampton Airport from Toowoomba.

UPDATE!  On Thursday 28 July, VH-PID departed Rockhampton Airport for Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport and then back to Toowoomba.

While LifeFlight Agusta Westland AW139 helicopter VH-XIA "Guardian 10" looked to return from Mount Isa to Longreach Airport and then Archerfield.  It flew out that way about a fortnight ago.

And Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) SAAB 340B VH-VEF was spotted visiting Maryborough Airport.  It arrived from and later departed back to Brisbane.




Fellow Link Airways (Corporate Air / Vee H Aviation) Metro 23 VH-VEK flew out from Brisbane to call into Longreach and Boulia Airports before then heading back to Brisbane.

Plus Link Airways Cessna 441 Conquests VH-VEH and VH-VEY both departed Theodore Aerodrome for Mount Isa.  Both arrived the previous day from Nyngan.  

Finally, also on Wednesday 27 July, Sytrans Airlines Dash-8-100 VH-QQC departed Rockhampton Airport for Cairns as SKP982.   It had arrived at the start of the week and operated several Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights between Rockhampton Airport and the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site over the last couple of days.

While late on Tuesday 26 July, fellow Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQG flew from Cairns to Labona as SKP983 before then flying to Rockhampton Airport as SKP776.  On Wednesday 27 July, VH-QQG departed Rockhampton Airport for Labona as SKP777 before then heading to Townsville as SKP787.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X Bizjet A56-003 "Envoy 27" Back in CQ and Spotted at Mackay Airport

On Wednesday 27 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet A56-003 was noted back in Central Queensland this week, and again visiting a couple of CQ Airports while looking to be on another training flight.





The Falcon 7X bizjet, which is flown by the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron, was this time flying as "Envoy 27" and looked to fly up from Canberra to Coffs Harbour before then landing at Bundaberg Airport. It then flew up to Mackay Airport where it was spotted landing on Runway 14.

A56-003 "Envoy 27" then departed to a missed approach at Cairns before landing at Townsville where it seems to be staying for the night.

As with similar training flights, the Falcon 7X bizjet should call into other CQ Airports on Thursday 28 July while it returns to Canberra.

UPDATE!  Indeed on Thursday 28 July, A56-003 "Envoy 27" departed Townsville and called into Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) and Rockhampton Airports before returning South to the Gold Coast and Canberra via another missed approach at Tamworth.

As posted below, over the course of Monday 25 July and Tuesday 26 July, A56-003 completed a similar pattern of 'training flights' but using the flight number and radio callsign of "Envoy 26".

A Couple of Corporate King Airs - VH-FAQ & VH-DYN - Both Call into the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site - Plus More!

On Tuesday 26 July, Brisbane-based Crockett Aviation Group (ex FIFO Jet P/L) Beech B200 King Air VH-FAQ was noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield before then continuing to the Labona Station Airstrip within Adani Australia's (Bravus Mining & Resources) Carmichael Coal Mine site.

VH-FAQ later it returned to Rockhampton Airport.

UPDATE!  Early on Wednesday 27 July, VH-FAQ departed Rockhampton Airport and returned to Archerfield. 

While Brescon (Toowoomba) Beech B200 King Air VH-DYN also visited Labona but from its Toowoomba-Wellcamp base.

And Cessna 208B Supervan 900 Skydiving Aircraft VH-XLF departed Roma Airport for Innisfail to commence skydiving operations.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday 26 July, Mitchell Water Cessna 525 Citation M2 bizjet VH-WMY flew up from Melbourne (Moorabbin) and Melbourne (Essendon) to Roma and Mackay Airports as shown.  It then returned down to Miles Airport and then back to Moorabbin.


It also looks like VH-WMY visited Miles and Dalby Airports on Monday 25 July, also from Moorabbin.

A32-008 as "Hudson 05" and A32-021 as "Hudson 07" both flew up from the Sunshine Coast to Gladstone Airport where they both completed a missed approach, before then flying up to and landing at Mackay Airport.

After some time on the ground, both Super King Airs looked to depart Mackay Airport and continue up to Cairns.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X Bizjet A56-003 "Envoy 26" Spotted at Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport

As predicted, on Tuesday 26 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet A56-003 "Envoy 26" flew South out of Townsville on its training flight, and was spotted visiting Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport.


After a short time on the ground, it then flew down to Gladstone Airport where it completed a missed approach before landing again for a short time.

A56-003 "Envoy 26" then departed to the Gold Coast and then back to Canberra but via a missed approach at Tamworth.

As mentioned below, A56-003 "Envoy 26" flew North to Townsville via Bundaberg and Hamilton Island Airports on Monday 25 July.
