Some Fantastic Plane Spotting Photos from Mackay Airport This Week

Townsville plane spotter Dave travels a lot around Queensland for his work, and during last week, he spent a couple of days at Mackay, where in between meetings, he managed to spend some time at Mackay Airport.  And Dave has allowed us to share some stunning plane spotting photos from Mackay Airport - despite the predominantly cloudy conditions!

Late on Monday 18 November, Dave captured Jetstar Airways Airbus A320 VH-VGR as it arrived into Mackay from Brisbane as JST888.

It later departed back to Brisbane in the late evening light as JST889.

Also spotted departing Mackay on Monday - during the usual late afternoon rush - was Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YFH which is pictured departing to Brisbane as VOZ616.

Also QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXD was captured by Dave on Monday afternoon also departing to Brisbane but as QJE1769.

Dave then returned to Mackay Airport early on Tuesday 19 November and captured some more great photos of the morning arrivals and departures, including Virgin Australia B737-800 VH-YIV which was captured departing to Brisbane as VOZ600.

Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 was captured departing Mackay early on Tuesday morning after overnighting, it departed to Brisbane as UTY2643, before returning mid-morning operating another return flight from and back to Brisbane but as UTY2644/2645.  There flights were on behalf of QantasLink.  Note the new flight numbers!

Virgin Embraer E-190 VH-ZPT was captured arriving from Brisbane as VOZ601.

And Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Airbus A320 VH-VNK was the final (but most welcome) movement to captured by Dave on Tuesday.  It is pictured arriving from Sydney as TGW386.

Finally, on Wednesday 20 November, Dave again ventured to Mackay Airport before heading home to Townsville.  He firstly captured Virgin Australia B737-800 VH-VUN as it departed Mackay for Brisbane as VOZ600.  VH-VUN still wears the old 'temporary' Airline of Virgin Blue / Pacific Blue colour scheme.

A little later in the morning Virgin B737-800 VH-YVA was captured by Dave arriving from and later departing back to Brisbane as VOZ601/604.

QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXJ was also captured arriving from and later departing back to Brisbane but as QJE1760/1761.

Jetstar Airways A320 - which is looking rather 'patchy' - was also captured arriving from and departing back to Brisbane as JST882/883.

Tigerair (Tiger Airways) A320 VH-VNH was the final - and again very welcome - aircraft to be spotted by Dave during his trip to Mackay.  VH-VNH was photographed arriving from and later departing back to Sydney as TGW386/387.
