Some Great Photos of The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Super Puma and Chinook Helicopters Operating out of Rockhampton Airport as Exercise Wallaby 2019 Continues!

Soon after the sun had set on Friday 18 October, local photographer Russell P captured some great photos as some of the visiting Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) helicopters returned to Rockhampton Airport after completing sorties to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) and back as the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2019 continues.

Three of the RSAF Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopters were photographed returning to Rockhampton Airport after completing sorties as "Cyclops" and "Celtic".  They appeared to be serial numbers 88188, 88181 and 88182, while the fourth that deployed to Rocky - 88186 - remained parked on the Northern Military Hardstand.

Meanwhile, soon after, a single RSAF Aerospatiale / Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopter, identified as '279' returned to Rockhampton Airport, also from Shoalwater Bay, but as "Diamond".

Three of the four Super Puma helicopters remain parked at Rockhampton Airport with one fulfilling the 'usual' role of a medical evacuation chopper being based at Shoalwater Bay.  They are parked alongside the four RSAF Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters, as well as three of the Chinooks with, as mentioned above, the fourth parked on the Northern Military Hardstand.

Sincere thanks to Russell P for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
