New Skytrans Airlines Dash-8-300 at Clermont Aerodrome

On a cool and crisp night at Clermont Aerodrome on Thursday 14 June, I spotted Skytrans Airlines latest Dash-8-300 to join their fleet - VH-QQP.

It arrived from and then departed back to Brisbane on one of Skytrans' 10 or so fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter flights to the South-East corner of Queensland.

Also spotted on Thursday evening was another Skytrans Dash-8-300 in the form of VH-QQM, which was preparing to depart to Mackay as SKP858.

Skytrans have taken over some FIFO flights between Clermont and Mackay - usually operating four return flights per week.

Early the next morning on Friday 15 June, VH-QQP returned to Clermont from Brisbane as SKP860.

Also spotted was Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQI - which is not a frequent visitor.

I was very happy to spot a new aircraft at Clermont Aerodrome!
