A Few More Plane Spotting Photos from Rockhampton Airport on Monday

As mentioned below, the funeral of local cattle identity Graeme Acton brought numerous bizjet and light General Aviation (GA) Aircraft to Rockhampton Airport on Monday 19 May.  Local plane spotter 'IAD' also braved the inclement weather and captured some great images as most of the various aircraft departed to various parts of the State and beyond.

Perhaps the nicest visitor was Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DT(BBJ) A36-001 "Envoy 97".

Other bizjets to call into Rocky were the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY.

Along with Yulgibar Pastoral Company (of Montmorency, Victoria) Cessna 550 Citation II VH-FGK which was captured by 'IAD' departing to Lismore.

Of the turbo-prop visitors to Rockhampton on Monday, there were no less than four Pilatus PC-12s - one of 'IAD's' favourite aircraft - including PC-12/47E VH-AAD.

PC-12/47E VH-MDH.

PC-12/47 VH-WPH.

And also PC-12/47E VH-VTF which 'IAD' actually captured arriving into Rockhampton on Sunday 18 May from Julia Creek and Mount Isa.  VH-VTF departed back to Julia Creek and Mount Isa on Tuesday 20 May.

A couple of Super King Airs were also spotted by 'IAD' - with Hawker Beechcraft B300 Super King Air VH-OXF and Raytheon B300 VH-PYN both captured in the pouring rain departing to their destinations.

And a pair of Cessna aircraft were captured - including Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DJS.

And with Cairns-based Cessna 337E Skymaster VH-OIQ.

Finally, to show how wet and trying the conditions were on Monday afternoon, 'IAD' captured this spectacular image of Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YVC as it slowed down after touching down on Runway 15 from Brisbane as VOZ1245.

Some great photos from 'IAD'.  My sincere thanks to him - and Kayanne H and Trevor H - for capturing all these wonderful images from Rockhampton Airport - despite the rain!
