JetGo E-135 VH-JGB – And Few Other Interesting Aircraft - Fly into Longreach and Emerald Airports

Becoming a regular visitor to Central Queensland is JetGo Australia Embraer E-135LR VH-JGB.  It flew into Longreach Airport on Tuesday 20 May from Sydney before departing to Newcastle (Williamtown).  From there it operated another Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter into Emerald Airport, arriving as JG32 just before sunset.

After staying for the night, VH-JGB , departed back to Newcastle early on Wednesday 21 May as JG31.  Then, from Newcastle, VH-JGB flew back into Longreach as JG99.  After taking on fuel, it then departed to to RAAF Base Tindal in the Northern Territory.

VH-JGB also called into Emerald last Friday 16 May, arriving from Brisbane and departing to Newcastle and Sydney.

Meanwhile, in recent days, there has been a number of other interesting aircraft and helicopters to call into both Emerald and Longreach Airports on ferry flights and other visits including FIFO charters.

As mentioned below, Australian Helicopters recently registered Bell 412EP VH-PXY passed through Emerald and Longreach after departing Gladstone Airport early on Sunday 18 May.

Emerald itself has also seen a couple of visits by the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) Bell 412EP VH-EPR “Rescue 300” in recent days as well.  This chopper is also operated by Australian Helicopters for the CHRS.

In terms of other FIFO charters into Emerald Airport, last Wednesday 14 May, the usual weekly Alliance Fokker jet – F-70 VH-QQR – called in as UTY1070, but it seemingly had maintenance issues, as Alliance F-100 VH-FWH was also noted calling into Emerald Airport, positioning from Brisbane before departing back there as UTY1071.

More recently, on Wednesday 21 May, Alliance Fokker F-70 VH-JFB operated the UTY1070/1071 FIFO charter.

Also on FIFO duties, Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340B VH-ZLO arrived from Brisbane on Sunday 18 May operating for Pel-Air as PFY9286.  It then positioned back to Brisbane.  Early on Tuesday 20 May, fellow REX SAAB VH-ZLK then positioned into Emerald and later departed back to Brisbane as PFY9283 on a FIFO charter.

Finally, out at Longreach, Kununurra-based Aviair (formerly Slingair Heliwork) ferried their new Cessna C208 Caravan VH-LNH through Longreach on Tuesday 20 May.  It arrived from Caloundra and later departed to Mount Isa and then onto Kununurra.  Also, Sharp Airlines - Air Adventure Outback Jet - arrived from Charters Towers, Cairns and Bloomfield River on Wednesday 21 May.
