Antonov Airlines (Antonov Design Bureau) AN-124-100M-150 UR-82008 Returns to Rockhampton Airport

Making a spectacular after-dark arrival into Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 9 September was Antonov Airlines (Antonov Design Bureau) AN-124-100M-150 UR-82008.

The giant Antonov transport aircraft returned to Rocky as ADB2134 direct from Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore.  It is believed to be carrying four Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters, which will be participating in the Singapore Armed Force’s Exercise Wallaby which will be starting next week.

Local plane spotter ‘IAD’ captured these great atmospheric night-time photos as the giant AN-124 "Ruslan" sat quietly on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.  It is expected that the Apache helicopters would be unloaded during Wednesday 10 September, with the Antonov due to depart later on Wednesday.

Sincere thanks to ‘IAD’ for capturing and sending through these awesome images!
