A nice double surprise for local plane spotters as Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-003 performed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport on both Saturday 4 October and Sunday 5 October.
Local spotter 'IAD' was on hand on Saturday to capture A39-003 as it flew up from RAAF Base Amberley.
After completing the missed approach, A39-003 - flying as "Dragon 11" - flew further North to Townsville before returning back to Amberley later in the day.
And on Sunday 5 October, A39-003 operated the same flight, and again performed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport. On Sunday however, it was flying as "Dragon 12".
Thanks to 'IAD' for his great photos from Saturday!
Go Bunnies!
