A Few Photos of GSL Aviation Airvan Operations out of the Whitsunday Airport (WAVE) at Shute Harbour

Being on holidays and staying around 10 minutes from the privately owned and operated Whitsunday Airport (WAVE) at Shute Harbour, I often pop in for a look.  On a recent visit, I was able to catch a glimpse at some of the operations of local operator GSL Aviation, and I have put together a few photos of the comings and goings of their four resident GA-8 Airvans.

GSL Aviation is now regarded as the best value fixed wing operator in Airlie Beach. They offer a range of Whitsunday scenic, transfer and charter flights, operating seven days a week from the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour.  They specialise in Whitsunday scenic flights and transfers direct - or via the scenic route - to Hamilton Island Airport. GSL Aviation also offer a free courtesy bus to/from surrounding suburbs in Airlie Beach.

On this particular occasion, Gippsland GA-8 Airvans VH-URB and VH-NOQ were preparing to depart the Whitsunday Airport - one on an Airport transfer to Hamilton Island and the other on a scenic flight.  After the pre-flight safety briefing, VH-URB taxied out before VH-NOQ.

They both made spectacular departures.

Shortly after, Gippsland GA-8 Airvan VH-IGW arrived.  The obligatory 'passenger photo' followed!

Then their newer Gippsaero GA-8 Airvan VH-VMU also arrived and parked on the Whitsunday Airport apron.

It was a great half-hour or so!
