Exercise Wallaby 2016 - RSAF C-130H Hercules '733' Arrives at Rockhampton Airport - Plus Airborne Action Resumes over the Weekend!

On Friday 23 September, Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Lockheed C-130H Hercules '733' touched down at Rockhampton Airport as "Singa 9682" from Darwin.  I believe that this Herc could be staying and operating out of Rocky in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016.

Meanwhile, local plane spotter Ben O, who absolutely loves his military aircraft spotting, has kindly allowed us to share some of his great photos and a video of the RSAF Boeing F-15SG 'Shikra' Strike Eagles and Boeing CH-47SD Chinook helicopters captured at Rockhampton Airport during the previous week.

After what was a quiet day with little or no other flying on Friday, it is expected that the aerial action associated with Exercise Wallaby 2016 will reach a crescendo over the next five days with day and night sorties by the F-15s, along with numerous sorties by the RSAF helicopters, expected to start from Saturday 24 September.

Stay tuned to the CQ Plane Spotting Blog for all the latest information - and some of the best photos and videos that I have seen of Exercise Wallaby 2016!

Sincere thanks to Ben O for allowing us to share his great photos and video!
