Three RAAF Aircraft Around and At Rockhampton Airport - incl. Dassault Falcon 7X Bizjet A56-002 Bringing Deputy PM to Rocky

On Tuesday 14 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet A56-002 was spotted arriving into Rockhampton Airport.

The still fairly new Falcon 7X bizjet, which is flown by the RAAF's VIP 34 Squadron, looked to arrive from Canberra as "Envoy 30".  It was also noted completing a missed approach and closed circuit before finally landing on Rocky's Runway 15.

After a couple of hours on the ground, A56-002 departed Rockhampton Airport for Port Macquarie and then Canberra.

Meanwhile, around the same time, RAAF Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-001 "Dragon 50" was photographed completing a missed approach also at Rockhampton Airport.

A39-001 earlier departed RAAF Base Amberley and flew up to Townsville via a missed approach at the Sunshine Coast.  It then flew down and completed the missed approach at Rockhampton Airport before then returning to Amberley.

Finally, also spotted completing a missed approach, also at Rockhampton Airport, was RAAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-210 "Stallion 43".

The Globemaster flew up from Amberley to complete the missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It then flew down and completed another missed approach at Bundaberg Airport before then returning to Amberley.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotters Scott H and Michael M for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
