On
Thursday 27 March, recently delivered QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-84E completed its first ever revenue flight, and it happened to be into CQ, with it touching down at Moranbah Airport as QLK2458/7 from and back to Brisbane.
The second-hand Dash-8-Q400 is the third of 12 (or 14) aircraft that the Qantas Group has purchased from Canadian operator WestJet Encore. VH-84E previously operated as C-FNEN and operated with the airline from October 2013 until October 2024.
The Dash-8 arrived into Australia via Brisbane on
Saturday 15 March, still wearing its Canadian registration marking of C-FNEN, completing a delivery flight from Canada across the Pacific.
It was promptly placed on the Australian Aircraft Register and also given the name 'Launceston'.
UPDATE! On
Thursday 28 March, it seems that VH-84E is planned to make two visits into Bundaberg Airport.
