Some Plane Spotting Photos from Gladstone Airport incl Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 Jets and Some Nice GA Movements

Local plane spotter 'Mick' has been busy at Gladstone Airport over the last few days but has taken time out to capture and send through some nice photos of some of the recent Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jets which continue to operate into the port city - along with a nice selection of some interesting light General Aviation (GA) visitors.

On Tuesday 26 July, E-190 VH-ZPH was photographed in the cool morning air operating the VOZ1707/1710 scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.

Then on Wednesday 27 July, E-190 VH-ZPB was also captured operating the VOZ1707/1710 early morning scheduled service into Gladstone Airport from and back to Brisbane.

Finally, on Sunday 31 July, E-190 VH-ZPO paid Gladstone a visit operating the VOZ1713/1716 mid-afternoon scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.

Meanwhile, some interesting light General Aviation (GA) aircraft captured by 'Mick' at Gladstone Airport in recent days and weeks have included this bright and colourful little Homebuilt Nova ultralight registered 19-4366.

Another recent visitor to the Gladstone GA Apron was Bayswater Road Aerial Surveys / Australian Aerial Mapping (AAM) Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) N-22C Nomad VH-ATO.

I believe it is the only airworthy Nomad left flying in Australia and so it is always a welcome visitor especially to CQ Airports!

Finally, soon after the very successful Old Station Fly-in and Heritage Show which was held at Raglan in late May, the Gladstone Airport GA Apron was quite busy with aircraft returning 'home' including a visit by a pair of Lake LA-4-200 Buccaneer amphibious aircraft VH-LAK and VH-LUG.

Both had recently visited the Old Station Fly-in and were believed to be heading North on a nice sightseeing flight over the next few days.

Sincere thanks to 'Mick' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!

Photos of GAF N-22C Nomad VH-ATO - And a Few Commercials - At Mackay Airport on Sunday

Making a welcome visit to Mackay Airport on Sunday 22 February was the last airworthy Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) N-22C Nomad VH-ATO.

VH-ATO - which is registered to Bayswater Road Aerial Surveys / Australian Aerial Mapping - was believed to have arrived from the North.

It departed further to the South later in the day.

Meanwhile, a couple of the commercial movements into Mackay Airport on Sunday 22 February included Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPH which departed early in the morning as VOZ600 to Brisbane.

Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VOT was captured arriving from Sydney as VOZ1473.

And Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Australia Airbus A320 VH-VNO was photographed arriving from and departing back to Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport as TGW744/745.

Of interest, following Tropical Cyclone Marcia passing through the region, Tigerair operated an additional service into Mackay using fellow A320 VH-VNH into Mackay late on Saturday 21 February, also from and back to Melbourne as TGW8744/8745.
