Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQY First Visit to Emerald Airport Wednesday on FIFO

Noted making its first visit into Emerald Airport on Wednesday 16 July was Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQY.

The little Fokker touched operated the weekly Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) flight to into Emerald from Brisbane as UTY1070.  After some time on the ground - while bus carrying the inbound passengers drives to Middlemount and back - VH-QQY returned to Brisbane with outbound load of passengers as UTY1071.

VH-QQY has an interesting history with sources indicating that the Fokker only returned to service in June after a 6-month maintenance lay-up.  It has been primarily used on other FIFO flights to Miles Airport.
