It is believed the Chinook - using the callsign "Brahman 104" - was returning to Townsville after heading South earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, making another visit to Rockhampton Airport on Friday 4 July was Surveillance Australia / Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Cobham Aviation) Dash-8-202 VH-ZZB.

It was noted arriving from Cairns using its registration as its radio callsign, suggesting that it may have been a 're-positioning' flight.  It remains parked on the Northern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron and is expected to depart on a surveillance sortie early on Saturday.

Finally, a couple of interesting General Aviation (GA) aircraft of note to call into Rocky on Friday 4 July included Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DJG which called in 'Natal Downs' and Townsville.  Also Balina-based Van's RV-7 VH-XPW arrived from the Balina / Byron Gateway Airport and later departed to the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour / Airlie Beach.
