Rockwell 685 Commander VH-NJT Calls into Hervey Bay and Mackay Airports

What an adventure!  New South Wales-based Rockwell 685 Commander VH-NJT was spotted departing Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport on Tuesday 2 June heading North to Mackay.  From Mackay, the Commander departed to Townsville and Undara in Far North Queensland.

Hervey Bay-based plane spotter Ben M captured the Commander as it departed North and reports that the passengers were on an adventure from New South Wales to the tip of Far North Queensland.

Of interest, at the time of writing, VH-NJT was due to fly on to Croydon, Weipa and the Northern Peninsula.

Meanwhile, back at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport, Ben was on hand also on Tuesday 2 June to capture QantasLink Dash-8-Q300 VH-TQD as it departed to Brisbane as QLK2375.

Also parked nearby after presumably operating a flight to nearby Lady Elliot Island was Seair Pacific (Istlecote) Cessna 208 Caravan VH-TLZ which - as shown - still wears the titles of its former operator Broome Aviation.

Another Seair Cessna Caravan - VH-VCW - was noted calling into Hervey Bay on Monday 1 June on a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Collinsville.  It also operated a FIFO charter flight from Hervey Bay to Wanella Station near Coppabella last Thursday 28 May.

Finally, a pair of familiar Toowoomba-based aircraft were also noted calling into Hervey Bay in recent days with Hawker Beechcraft G58 Baron VH-OMS touching down on Tuesday 2 June, while Redjet Aviation Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-PJU visited last Thursday 28 May.

Thanks to Ben M for capturing and allowing us to share his great photos of a unique aircraft!
