Two new aircraft that have recently entered service with Alliance Airlines and Skytrans Airlines have been noted passing through some CQ Airports over the last week.
Fokker F-100 VH-XWR has entered service out of Brisbane with Alliance Airlines and was noted operating to Mackay and Rockhampton Airports on Monday 8 August, and then on Thursday 11 August, VH-XWR flew to Emerald Airport on a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) charter.
Skytrans Airlines recently acquired Dash-8-311 was noted positioning into Brisbane from Cairns late last week, and this week, began operating on Skytrans' FIFO charter flights to Emerald Airport. VH-QQM was noted flying to Emerald Airport on Monday 8 August. It then positioned to Rockhampton Airport, before returning to Emerald Airport early on Tuesday 9 August, before flying back to Brisbane.
Incidentally, Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YVA, which is still a reasonably new aircraft, made it first visit to Mackay Airport last Thursday 4 August.
