As well as being centre of attention at the Virgin Australia Community Day at Emerald Airport on Saturday, the Skywest Airlines operated ATR 72-500 VH-FVL also made an appearance at Rockhampton Airport, this time on Sunday 8 January.
Don W was on the scene and heard it arrive from Brisbane using the unique callsign "Virgin 235 Alpha". Seemingly, this was another training flight for ground crew etc. It later departed back to Brisbane.
They use the callsign "alpha" now instead of "sierra" due to ATC writing on their card 5 instead of S, leading to confusion. (so i'm told)
