A nice arrival into Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast Airport on Thursday 6 August was De Bruin Aviation (De Bruin Air) British Aerospace (BAe) 3201 Jetstream 32EP VH-OAM. It arrived from the Balina / Byron Gateway Airport in Northern New South Wales.
It appears that VH-OAM is on a tourist charter with it noted flying low level over Fraser Island before landing at Hervey Bay. In fact its journey started at De Bruin's Mount Gambier base in South Australia, and has taken in stops at Melbourne (Essendon), Merimbula, Newcastle and Balina.
Local plane spotter Ben M managed to capture VH-OAM still parked at Hervey Bay on Friday 7 August.
Of interest, De Bruin Aviation was born out of the former O'Connor Airlines which ceased operations on 2007. De Bruin operates a fleet of Jetstream J32 and Vulcanair (Partenavia) P68 aircraft in various roles including general charter, Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights and aerial surveying and photography.
UPDATE! VH-OAM was due to head to Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns on Saturday 8 August.
Friday 7 August turned out to be a busy day at Hervey Bay Airport a with a couple of other light General Avation (GA) aircraft visiting including Seair (Istlecote) Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LMZ, Brisbane-based Cessna 340 VH-LKM, Madog Aviation Raytheon 58 Baron VH-MDK, Victoria-based Cirrus SR22 VH-ZCS, New South Wales-based Piper PA-30 VH-SLP and Maroochy Air Piper PA-46R-350T Malibu VH-UPY.
Finally, Ben also captured a couple of nice photos of locally-based Pitts S-1S Special VH-YGH as it completed airwork around Hervey Bay on Thursday 6 August.
Thanks mate!
