Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-002 Calls into Rockhampton Airport

On Thursday 12 March, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-200 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-002 was spotted arriving into Rockhampton Airport.  It flew up from RAAF Base Amberley and was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Dragon 43".

After parking for a short time on Taxiway Juliette and completing a crew change, A39-002 departed Rockhampton Airport and returned to Amberley.

Meanwhile, of interest, also on Thursday 12 March, fellow RAAF KC-30A MRTT A39-005 "Dragon 53" was in the air around the same time completing a flight from Amberley to Townsville and then Sydney.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Scott H for taking the time to capture and send through these great 'phone' photos!
