RAAF Boeing P-8A Poseidon Maritime Surveillance Aircraft A47-006 & A47-003 Head Back into CQ Again and Complete Missed Approaches at Mackay Airport

On Monday 21 June, the visiting pair Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing P-8A Poseidon Maritime Surveillance Aircraft that were noted completing airwork at some Central Queensland Airports over the weekend, were yet again both noted back in the region and completing low-level operations including missed approaches at Mackay Airport.

A47-006 flys overhead Rockhampton

Poseidon A47-006 was heard to be this time flying as "Mariner 01" and looked to fly down from Townsville to overhead Rockhampton and Gladstone from where it headed out to sea.  It descended and completed low-level operations off Agnes Water and around Lady Elliot Island before it then tracked North and completed several circuits around the islands off Mackay.  A47-006 then completed a missed approach at Mackay Airport before it then flew back to Townsville.

While Poseidon A47-003 flew as "Mariner 02" and also flew down from Townsville and completed a missed approach at Mackay Airport before it then also headed out to sea, heading towards Agnes Water.  It later popped up back on radar off Mackay before it then climbed and flew back to Townsville.
